Sorry, I am totally lost. On my machine, in stage patch and all patch windows, all ports and wires are grey/white. How can I reset this to white/yellow/green/blue?

Sounds like this file is faulty for some reason:

Distrib\System\modulegui\DefaultTheme.dat

Can you try to replace it with a file from another installation?
