Sensation - Source of Light
For the 2012 edition of ID&T's Sensation source of light tenfeet produced and controlled all the video footage. Also the lighting design was by tenfeet.
The main eyecatcher was a 14m sphere, with each rib of the sphere was made up of 2 curved LED-strips. The whole sphere was UV-mapped in 3dMax/Modo and a custom CSV file controlled the 140 DMX universes for the LED-strips.
Video was also mapped on the 4 inflatable masks that hoover around the stadium roof.
Because of the complexity of the AI-patch use was made of custom patches and masking functions.

The artnet pixel mapping csv file for this was a fun one. Max script saved the day.
One of my favourite projects with Ai for sure. That sphere is out of this world. I love it!
