Use Layer Empty Use Layer

Hi, ArtMedia server and Catalyst I very often use the folder 254 file n, where n in the layer index to use its image or video data on another layer, this improves speed and sync between diferent layers that use the same content at a time. Would it be possible to implement it on Ai? I miss that feature a lot.

This is a Catalyst playback function that we also use constantly.

One of the additional purposes- when playing a clip with audio on multiple surfaces. Catalyst will play the audio from every iteration, creating an audio smear.Use Layer has the system play a single version and then duplicate it across multiple mixes.

Would be great to see a similar function in Ai.

YES PLEASE! perhaps one of catalysts most popular features and highly requested by clients when we provide servers for other shows.
