Ai 5.1 surround sound

Hi all
I have a project with nearly 360 panorama and surround sound.
Is it possible to output 5.1 surround sound from Ai?
If yes, do I need a special sound card or onboard surround sound card will do?

From what I read from it all NO, was the answer I got only 2 channel audio playback is available. I had 7.1 surround sound to play and I triggered QLAB over MIDI and it worked a treat ! I could be wrong, it also might be an update ? looking forward to hearing more about this topic !

If you can embed the surround sound audio channels into a Quicktime movie and compress the video using the AiM codec then it might work. We have not tried this ourselves though.

Thanks for reply, I'll try with surround audio in AiM movie, if it will not work I'll try some alternatives, and let you know
