Hi Kapil,
the only external video capture card i have used with a retina mac book is the Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle USB3. i was happy with the quality and latency.

Just to clarify, once the graphic card is ready then all I have to do is drag and drop the live.scab patch from the patches folder, right click, click on the tab, edit as patch and then choose the input and the preview screen should show us the live video feed right?
I ask this because in the system I built previously, before picking up the mac I was using a dual decklink blackmagic capture card and there the input didn't work directly. I had to download am app for testing and then some multibridge software! The input finally came in, however it was delayed by more than a couple of frames!

while we are on this topic, we are using our blackmagic ultra studio mini recorder, well, trying to use it. the computer sees it, and Ai can see both input ports (hdmi and hdsdi) but it doesn't know how to raster it, can you guys look into the shader code from the blackmagic SDK so that we can make it work?

If you aren't getting any video feed through the capture card then you should try what I did previously.. Along with blackmagic there comes something called multibridge utility.. close all the applications, once your input feed is coming through the capture card then open the multibridge utility window.. Now open up your AI window and the live feed should reflect!
