Surround playback
Hi guys,
We have a challenge here in a pre production phase. Basically We want to be able to play 7CH surround file from the server.
Is that possible?
If not..... Can we cue another machine through MIDI?
What's the limitation of MIDI control with the AI server?
Cheers

Re: Surround playback
Hi,
we don't yet support greater than 2 channel audio.
what I normaly do is run the surround from an external device like an audio sequencer, and then send timecode from the sequencer to the server to ensure that they all stay synced nicely.

Hey kurtpool,
I don't really know if multiple audio playback is support in V8.
But if it comes to your plan b.
You could use an audio engine like Pro Tools or Logic and an audio interface with 8 outputs.
There you just add a timecode track with the right fps and sample rate settings, use the 8th output for the timecode and then sync the server to the timecode.
This should be the best solution instead of midi trigger another device in freerun.
Hope this helps.
