Split Ouput
Ok, this is probably an easy one and i'm missing something.
How do i split my outputs across one canvas.
For example, say i have a Matrox THTH or Datapath X4 configured as multiple of 1024x768, how do i send an XGA output to each section of the 1 output?
In a similar theme, i often end up sending a lot of LED fixtures mapped out onto 1 1920x1080 output, in this situation i would again like to layout an output for each LED processor and "Comp" them together on 1 larger canvas output, which i guess is the same question as above?
Thanks
Gareth

Re: Split Ouput
the LED Config module is what you need here. the module is an alternate skin for the video out module ( insert module/display/video out ) - one added, right click the module and choose "load alternate skin"
the yellow input can be connected to either the output of a projector or from a rectangle if mapping isnt needed. the LED Config button turns the module on, the numerical screen button determines which screen video is sent to. the we are left with LED X/ Y - this is the top left starting pixel for the screen to be drawn from and LED DX / DY determines how large that screen is drawn. multiple copys of this module can address the same output at the same time, so with some sensible offsets applied to the LED X / Y, you should be able to get all the screens showing on a single output.
for the second part of the question, do you mean lighting fixtures or led screens?

Re: Split Ouput
Ah that makes sense, will give it a try. Having to wait for V7 RC15 to download as the 7.1 beta i have been using crashes when i try and use the LED module.
I mean LED video screen, outputting DVI, which the above solution should also work absolutely fine for!
Thanks

Re: Split Ouput
this tutorial might also be of use if you have a multi sectioned model for your led screen :

( im currently working on a guide to modelling and mapping complex screen shapes - hoping to get it finished today *fingers crossed* )

Re: Split Ouput
Will that also include the loading of obj files with a UV map?
I have an obj at the moment, but when i load it onto a default screen it seems to get flattened by Ai, let me know and i can send it across for you to look at?
Thanks

Re: Split Ouput
if you connect to the output of the rectangle, then it purely the texture, if you output from a projector, then its the texture applied to the 3d model.
you can send the file to arran@avolitesmedia.com and i wil be happy to take a look at it for you. ( if the file is larger then 10mb, zip it down first )

Re: Split Ouput
Actually looking at this again, it's because the object properties for the screen scale WxDxH where set to the default screen ones, which where not square. I assume if i set the dimensions to be real-world values the model will appear correctly in the preview window, or should i just enter square values, i.e 10x10x10 to maintain the correct aspect ratio for the model?

Re: Split Ouput
if the object has been correctly modelled, then leave the scale width and height both set to 1 - the value relates to the model itself rather than a default size or scale.
