rendering AiM in the latest Adobe versions
As you are probably aware by now, Adobe has dropped support for legacy codecs including QuickTime, which has an obvious direct impact on using AiM. This issue only affects Adobe products.
We do have a solution for this which we are working on and will be releasing soon which will allow you to render AiM directly out of Adobe softwares.
in the mean time, your options are:
1) don't update your adobe products
2) keep a legacy version of media encoder or your adobe product of choice ( cc gives an option to download legacy versions )
3) render to an intermediate file format and use a 3rd part ap to render to AiM

Re: rendering AiM in the latest Adobe versions
using the original quicktime plugins, any 32 bit quicktime compatible encoder will work, for example mpegstreamclip
