We showed a nearly complete version of Ai running on OSX at LDI in Las Vegas in October. It is nearly done, we just need to sort out a few little bugs and we should be ready for release early next year.

VERY soon - Ai v7 is just a week or two away and its both windows and mac

Yes, I am using the base spec Retina for development at the moment.
