Problem of unfocusing our image
Hello,
There is a necessity during the show to project video on one object and then another video on the other object by the same projector.
The problem is that the objects are located on different depths, the distance is about 7 meters.
Thus, we face a problem of unfocusing our image.
Questions:
1. Is it possible to prepare video for the second object in advance, e.g. originally unfocused?
2. Or are there any media servers which can help focus our image on the second object?
Thank you.

Re: Problem of unfocusing our image
can u not trigger presets in control software like barco/christie and recall as required.?
Re: Problem of unfocusing our image
I fear that's technically not possible with nowadays projectors - you cannot fight the projection being out of focus with counter-unfocusng the projected image. On the camera side, an approach to solve this is plenoptics, known as light-field cameras. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light-field_camera as a starting point. But for projectors, I don't know of any such solution.
If you find a projector with remote-controllable focus (not only by IR remote, but via wire), you might trigger/set the focus from AI. This would be doable - but then again, I don't know of bigger projectors where the focus can be controlled, e.g. via Art-Net. Example for such a thing would be the Highend DL 1/2/3

Unless I am mistaken, it seems to me that the OP wants to defocus his image in certain parts of the frame so that he can project on both surfaces at the same time and have them both in focus at different focus lengths. I don't believe that is possible, but the solution is two projectors with two different mapped area, and the media server will help you align the media to play back within the mapped areas and align the timing.
Of course I am new to the advanced (non-programming) side of the media server world, so I may be wrong.
