Layer Cross Fade Time V7

Layer Cross Fade Time V7
Is it possible to set a different cross fade time for layers on separate devices?
I would like a 2 second cross fade on Screen 1 and a 0.5 cross fade on screen 2.
This would eliminate patching two layers and having to track which layer is live. The transition in a single layer will eliminate hours of reprogramming when a new media clip has to be inserted.
I think I see the cross fade duration control on the mixer, but the output is not patched.
Thank you.

Re: Layer Cross Fade Time V7
Hi There
The crossfade period and mode on the layer properties should work. They are not patched as you have observed, but they are read internally by the render engine rather than by layer nodes. When the crossfade period and mode on the layer properties are set to 0 then they are ignored and the default cross fade period is used from the system settings or the clips cross fade period from the roller cue if you are using the roller cue triggering method. When the crossfade period and mode on the layer properties are set to anything other than 0 then they should be activated and used above all other values specified above.
Hope that helps
Best regards

Dave,
100 Ch Mode
RollerCue Trigger Method
Cell Properties (Clip Properties)
Transition Period/ Transition Mode:
These values do propagate to the layer cross fade. Extremely powerful- very useful.
I see those values in the Media Players page of the selected layer.
The not equal zero values from Layer 1 Extended Artnet Inputs do not seem to propagate correctly. Is this the layers properties page you referred to?
I can manually change CF Period and CF Mode on the media player page and click the trigger button. Those values work, but as soon as I select a clip from the roller cue, the system setting or clip property values are executed.
Thank you.

Re: Layer Cross Fade Time V7
OK Yes your right, the clip properties for cross fade duration and mode over ride the ones on the layer properties. This doesn't happen when your using the Numeric File and folder triggering method of course which is where I've seen the layer cross fade duration working nicely in the past. I guess we need an option switch somewhere to allow the user to decide which cross fade duration and mode to use - the one in the clip properties or the one in the layer. I'll add this to my todo list.
Thanks for pointing it out. Much appreciated
