How to connect Sapphire Media to Ai server
I got the Sapphire Media and tried it yesterday. But I do not have any guide tips.
I have use the USB cable to connect to Ai server to supply Sapphire Media power, and it works, and I found 2 control input
which would use for 2 wide screen,8 preview input would be use for connect the server preview.
But what I try,2 wide screen do not have any image. How can I do that.
Can you tell me the steps of connecting Sapphire Media to Ai server

Re: How to connect Sapphire Media to Ai server
Hi there
I will get some one to get in touch from the Avolites Media support team ASAP - the Frankfurt show is on at the moment so we're all busy with that.
As you probably know, the Sapphire Media Desk is such a new product there is no written manual at the moment.
The main things you need to do are as follows:
run from the start menu, Avolites, USB Expert console. Then click on the menu tools, ACW service, start. then as you move the faders and buttons you should see them popping up in this console window, you can then either close this application or minimize it. Then in Ai if you want to connect to the controller, in the stage patch (or anywhere in the system) you can insert module, controller, Ai Controller. Then from there you can connect any of the ports to the system. Also check the right click, load alternative skin command on the module to get to other ports / functionality.
We have some template projects which haven't been put in the release build yet which are pre configured to work nicely with the sapphire media. I will get some one to get in touch from the Avolites Media support team to share these project files with you.
Thanks for your patience while we introduce this exciting new product!

Re: How to connect Sapphire Media to Ai server
Hi Rain,
Just wanted to ask if you were still having problems connecting the Sapphire Console to the Ai server? We are currently in the process of creating a user guide for connecting the Avolites series of controllers to the software, e.g. Sapphire Console, MSC-1, etc.

Re: How to connect Sapphire Media to Ai server
Hi Rain,
Please could you describe how you are setting up the connections to the rear of the Sapphire Console?
The 2 wide screens need to be connected as follows:
your main output from the server should connect to the Left input on the rear of the Sapphire, your secondary screen to the Right input.
The smaller preview screens are connected using the inputs 1 to 8.

Re: How to connect Sapphire Media to Ai server
Thanks for your help.
Here I would tell you how I connect them.
A Sapphre Media,and a Ai infinity server
Firstly,I would use a USB cable to connect AI server to Sapphire media(I saw a sentence "use USB to supply power)
secondly,my AI infinity server monitor output is the 1 ,so I use 2 DVI cable to connect the 1 output(include preview and project, also I had try connect 1&2 output),and open Sapphire &Ai server.
thirdly,I open the USB Expert console ,and tool--ACW service--start.
My Ai server ,only have 16 DVI output at the back broad(8 preview & 8 project). Is there any DVI output for connecting to
2 big screen of Sapphire Media.I can not find them.

Re: How to connect Sapphire Media to Ai server
Hi Rain,
So do you have your connections as follows:
Output 1 (Infinity) to Left input (Sapphire)
Output 2 (Infinity) to Right input (Sapphire)
Output 3 (Infinity) to 1 input (Sapphire)
Output 4 (Infinity) to 2 input (Sapphire)
Output 5 (Infinity) to 3 input (Sapphire)
Output 6 (Infinity) to 4 input (Sapphire)
Output 7 (Infinity) to 5 input (Sapphire)
Output 8 (Infinity) to 6 input (Sapphire)
...and so on. This should allow you to see your main outputs on the 2 wide screens, with the other outputs appearing on the smaller screens.
So do you have your connections as follows:

Output 2 (Infinity) to Right input (Sapphire)
Output 3 (Infinity) to 1 input (Sapphire)
Output 4 (Infinity) to 2 input (Sapphire)
Output 5 (Infinity) to 3 input (Sapphire)
Output 6 (Infinity) to 4 input (Sapphire)
Output 7 (Infinity) to 5 input (Sapphire)
Output 8 (Infinity) to 6 input (Sapphire)
...and so on. This should allow you to see your main outputs on the 2 wide screens, with the other outputs appearing on the smaller screens.

Re: How to connect Sapphire Media to Ai server
Hey Rain,
It sounds to me like you are outputting the wrong resolution to the two touch screens. What resolution are you trying to send them?
I believe the resolution you need is 1366 x 768. But am out of the office. Perhaps one of the other guys can confirm this...
Cheers

You are correct Ciaran. I am currently writing up a guide to help with this issue, which should be available very soon.

Re: How to connect Sapphire Media to Ai server
I have tried to change resolution to 1366 x 768.But it can not work.
I have tried so much.
In the USB Expert console,I can get information is "Panel 1 is running normally...Panel 1 is not responding"
and Panel is the same.
I explain my steps.
1.I use input 1 for main input,so I take the input 1 preview and project to connect left input and right input.
2.I have set the resolution to 1366 x 768
3.start USB Expert console, and ACW server start
4.at the stage patch,I insert a vedio output for main screen
5.I can not see any image on the 2 big screen, and I change all resolution, such as 1280X1024,1360X768......each one I have try.
I can only see the brightness of 2 big screen sometime would change, but no image.
So,I need your help....

Re: How to connect Sapphire Media to Ai server
Where are you changing the resolution for the EDID.... This needs to be done through USB Expert.
So you want to start the ACW Service, once this is connected you should have a few panels on the left hand side. If you click to highlight 'Infinity Edid Panel 1' then you should be able to upload the EDID on the right hand window.
It sounds to me like you have the right resolution but your refresh rate is incorrect.
Off the top of my head I cannot remember the correct refresh rate. But in the EDID folder there are two 1366 x 768 EDID files. One for 50hz and one for 60hz. Perhaps try both of these. I would presume 60hz is the one that you would want but I cannot be sure.
If you cannot see the 'Infinity EDID Panel 1' option once the service is running then there could be a driver problem. Under Tools there is an option to 'Repair Drivers' and this will install the drivers for you.
Try this out and let us know how you get on =]

Hey Sebastien,
Try the following to set up your touch screen calibration:
With the Sapphire Media console attached to the computer, go to the start menu in Windows, click on All Programs and click on Pen Mount Universal Driver, then Utility and choose Pen Mount Control Panel.
Click on the multiple monitors tab and check the box marked Multiple Monitor Support, then press Map Touch Screens. It will inform you to touch the panels as indicated on the following screens, then click ok.
Press the indicated screen on your Sapphire, then the next one. Press the S key on your computer keyboard for any screens connected that do not have touch support, e.g. the top preview screens.
Then go to the device panel, double click the first icon on the left, and then click Standard Calibration. Simply touch and hold as prompted on the right screen of your Sapphire – it will ask you to touch and hold in each corner of the screen, before finally asking you to touch in the indicated area in the middle of the screen.
Back in the device panel, click ok and then double click the second screen (the icon on the right) and choose Standard Calibration. Repeat the process as above to calibrate the second screen. Once completed, your touch screens should be calibrated and working correctly.
Hope this helps!

Re: How to connect Sapphire Media to Ai server
I don't have this software on my AiS Infinity 8.
Is it the "TrackingTools.2.5.0.Final_x32.exe" inside the folder /ProgramFiles/Avolites/Ai/Distrib/System/Natural Point/ ?
Maybe I need to do the setup.

Hi Rain,
Great to hear you are enjoying the power of Ai!
I have a link to a description and project file that should help with connecting unmapped functions of the Sapphire Media console - you can download this here:- https://www.dropbox.com/s/veezctxplmj6ugq/Sapphire%20Media%20Connection%20Example.zip
Hope this is useful to you. If you have any other questions about the Sapphire Media console, please get in contact.
