Vertical Screen with Extra layers
Hi guys,
I just started testing the server and I've got a few questions.
So, The project is a vertical screen is over 10 meters high. I want to create the Background and I need to add a few more layers.
How can I do this?
I actually made the big screen and I inserted both projectors, the point is, adding extra layers and make them work on the same pair of projectors.

Re: Vertical Screen with Extra layers
Hi Davi,
Assuming you are using the v7 software, then this should simply be a case of using the layers that are on the left-hand side of the Performance Page in Ai. Click on the relevant layer, play a clip and then you will need to try different blend modes and opacity settings to have multiple layers running together. If the top layer is set to alpha with the opacity slider at full, then you wont see anything happening with the other layers.
If you are running a different version of the software, let me know and I'll help with that.
Kind regards,
Marc

Re: Vertical Screen with Extra layers
You can still achieve similar results using v6.
First, in the System Settings patch (in the top left) set the layer count to 4 at the bottom. Next, in Ai select your layers and add a piece of media for each layer. Now open the Stage Patch from the top left window - under the screen fixture you should see a Mixer_0 module. On here is where you can apply your blend mode (v6 only supports 1 blend mode per fixture). Something like additive should allow you to see the multiple videos playing together. You can also set the opacity for each layer - double click the Mixer_0 module and you will see another patching window. On the top left of this screen you should be able to see Layer 1 Parameters, Layer 2 Parameters, etc. Opening this brings up another module with Opacity (named Brightness) at the top.
Hope this helps.
