Audio in AI - please help!
Hello...
I had some big problems with sound today... can someone tell me the best settings for Ai / AIM to play clips with sound?
all clips are made in AE and they are in 1080p 25. - only uncompressed sound was working without drops in sound.. but the video was to slow... there are interview situations in it - so it musst be perfect.. - show is today in front of Germanys Highsociety..
Server is Infinity8...
best regards from germany,
tobi

Re: Audio in AI - please help!
I believe we have already relayed this information to you today but I am just posting it here for the benefit of the community at large as well.
The correct settings for audio are 16-bit stereo at 44.1kHz uncompressed. If encoding in Quicktime it is necessary to untick the ‘Big Endian’ option.
Additionally inside an ai project there is a parameter called 'continuous sync' in the systems settings. By default this is set to 0 or off. If this is turned on by setting to 1 then it should synchronise the video to the audio clock and should solve the issue where sometimes you are getting drifting between audio and video. There is also a parameter to offset the audio clock in system settings which sets the audio offset if audio seems out of sync relative to associated video files.

Re: Audio in AI - please help!
'Continuous Sync' is a feature included in the Windows version from 7.1.0.568 onwards and has not yet been implemented in the Mac version. You can download the current Windows beta release, 7.2.0.48, from our downloads page which has this feature in: https://aiforum.forumotion.co.uk/t166-ai-v71-beta
